Technician – Energy designer

Under the supervision of the Draftsroom Manager, the draftsman’s main responsibilities include designing and drawing equipment dedicated to wood processing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs using SolidWorks, SolidWorks Routing, and AutoDesk software.
  • Participate in the design of various components for energy production and distribution systems.
  • Create and update 2D and 3D drawings, models, and schematics, including piping systems.
  • Ensure projects adhere to the established schedule.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements.
  • Ensure drawings and production documents comply with BID Group standards.
  • Provide support to field teams by reviewing and revising issued plans.
  • Collaborate with other teams of designers and engineers to integrate piping designs into the overall project plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering certification
  • Professional Technologist certification or equivalent related to energy systems technology, mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, industrial engineering technology or similar field.
  • Experience in the energy field (thermal systems and pressurized tanks).
  • Good knowledge of SolidWorks software.
  • Experience in sawmill, pellet or biomass industry will be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of reading, interpreting, and producing design drawings.

Salary : 20$ to 28$ hourly
